We started our music and movement class on Monday and what a fun time we had! The Core Knowledge objectives for the months of August and September are playing games that teach the following: listening to instructions, following directions, going from a high activity level to a quiet state, and knowing when to start and stop using signals. I had a nice discussion with the children regarding the fun activities we will be doing this year. We played a fun game with bean bags accompanied with the songs that go along with the game. What a fun time the children had dancing with their colorful bean bags! We will continue these activities during the month of September learning more games using music and following directions. These activities are designed to help develop hand/eye coordination and help the children learn the importance of paying attention to the space around them.
