This week in Music and Movement the children played the fun childhood game of Red Light Green Light. I would give the children a direction, for example: hop, run, walk or skip on the green light and then they would need to stop when they saw the red light or move in slow motion on the yellow light. We are still working on following directions and being able to use signals for starting and stopping. We will continue this concept for the rest of the month of September and the children are doing an excellent job following the requests they are given. I am also going over the importance of looking and listening before crossing the street. We are practicing this in the school’s parking lot by making sure we are walking in line and stopping at the crossing area. We then look both ways and listen for cars before crossing. What a fun, smart and respectful group of little ones you all have!
