This was a busy week for our JK2 class. The letter B was introduced, and the children worked on various activities related to the letter B.We were very pleased to see that most all the children were excited to “Show and Share” their letter Bb items from home.. As you are driving around town, it is fun to have you child identify any B’s that they see in local signage….Big R, Bergen Bark, etc. This week we focused on our bodies, including the bones, brain, lungs and heart, exploring and identifying the function of each of these major parts of our bodies. Mr. Williams came on Monday and sang with the children – they always love singing with Mr. Williams. On Wednesday we looked at our huge map and the country of Canada. We talked about the country, made a craft including the Canadian flag, and ate our Bannock Bread snack that we made earlier in the day – the children enjoyed kneading the dough and rolling out their own pieces. We continue to spend at least 60 minutes outside, so remember to bring a jacket. We are already feeling the change of the seasons, with yesterday being the first day of Fall.
