Spark City Museum Visited the Preschool

spark-cityThe “Spark City” Museum visited the Preschool at RMAE on Monday morning!  “Spark City” is a renovated old school bus that has been converted into a traveling children’s museum.  There were bubbles swirling around outside where the children were able to pick fruits and vegetables right from the play garden that was set up outside the bus, and catch fresh fish in the mini pond.  Children pretended to sell their fruits, vegetables, and fish, along with other items in the grocery store that was set up inside the bus.

When the shopping venture was complete, the children pretended to prepare food and serve it in a make-believe restaurant.  During clean-up, the children also learned about recycling and composting.  When the children were finished playing in the kitchen, they were able to exit the back of the bus on the yellow slide, and then start the cycle all over again!  This fulfilled encouragement of make-believe playtime; which is instrumental in children’s early discovery and learning.

Our youngest students enjoyed running around the bus, through the bus, and going down the slide!  Everyone thoroughly enjoyed this amazing experience.

Thank you for supporting our hot lunch program and movie nights, where the funds generated are used to provide these fun learning experiences for the children who attend the Preschool at RMAE!
