Susan Wartchow, Preschool Director

I was born on the island of Okinawa, grew up in Texas and have lived in Colorado for the past 24 years. I have a BA in Elementary Education, with a specialization in Reading, and am ECE Director certified. I anticipated teaching middle school but, as luck would have it, I found myself opening an Early Learning Center in the US Virgin Islands for teenage parents. This was not only an eye-opening and magical experience but instrumental in changing my trajectory to Early Childhood; creating a deep passion for the development of social and emotional skills in children and in the adults that teach them. I believe that collaboration and connection are instrumental in constructing optimal learning environments. I look forward to starting my 24^th year as an Early Childhood Director.

A Wonderful Experience For All Of Us

What a wonderful experience for all of us! Both of my girls thrived in the preschool’s nurturing, hands-on environment, and I felt completely comfortable leaving them in the care of the warm and experienced teachers everyday. Above and Beyond

The Preschool was a home away from home for me. I felt at ease bringing my children everyday to smiling faces and warm embraces. The teachers are amazing! The curriculum is on task with what preschoolers should be learning and the teachers made learning fun, instead of being a “chore.” All of the teachers AND the Director went above and beyond to make each child feel special, loved and treasured. Each teacher knows just how to motivate the children and encourages them to do their best. In addition, there were projects outside of school to instill in the children how to become a helpful part of society. What a wonderful school with a terrific staff. From the holiday programs to the projects in class, I’d recommend this program to anyone who has the opportunity to attend a preschool.
