Exciting First Week Back!

Exciting First Week Back!

Welcome Back to School!

Everyone is having such a wonderful time being back at school.  The classrooms are bustling with energy and excitement.  A new student joined Mrs. Park’s class today, and the children are so excited about their new friend.  On Monday and Tuesday, the children in Mrs. Park’s class learned about winter, snow and ice, how to make a snowman, and made their own little snow people.  They picked a circle for each letter in their name, and identified as many letters as they could to make their paper snowman.  They had fun playing in snow, and melted ice with salt and added food coloring to see what colors they could make.  The children even made 3 paper mache balloons.  They will paint them next week and turn them into a SNOWMAN!  They even learned a new rhyme titled “Ten Little Snowmen.”  On Wednesday and Thursday the children learned about Dr. Martin Luther King.  The main focus was Dr. King’s message of equality and peace for all people.  The children sang songs, read books, and made a crown with the word “Peace” on it.  What a happy place to be!   The children also traced the letter Kk and named items that begin with letter Kk.  Today the children tasted and graphed their favorite apples.  Snacks were yummy.  The children enjoyed oatmeal and raisins, scrambled eggs, toast, peanut butter, fresh fruit, crackers, and milk.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
